NDNation Florida State Postmortem

(ED. NOTE: We don’t write these ourselves! We aren’t insane! This is part of a recurring series in which we compile actual posts from NDNation’s flagship forum, Rock’s House, into a semi-coherent narrative. Original post and explanation is here. We do this every week. Thank you for not yelling at us on Twitter anymore.)

Well… At least we can say there is a worse coach than Kelly out there. Last night had to have been demoralizing for FSU. ND ran their dicks into the ground. Yes, we did. Because FSU left its berries on the bus.

I had to seek medical help four hours after Notre Dame’s 12 play, 97 yard drive that straddled the third and fourth quarters. You always have to be careful when you take the little blue & gold pill.

Go get ‘em, Brandon. My mortgage payment depends on you! He will be one of my favorite players during the Kelly era whereas the ethnic southside irish shanty rednecks prefer Finke. *edit for misspelling ethnic slur.

Wimbush’s interceptions in the 2nd half were bad. I’ve never seen Jurkovec make mistakes like that. Giving BW the start against FSU as part of senior day, even the entire fist half, makes sense. Jurkovec’s eligibility simply was wasted for no evident reason. The Wasting of Jurkovec. I don’t know about Jurkovec, but I was pretty wasted by the end of the game myself.

I’d love to get swept up in the wave of positivity surrounding the football team, but every time I try to do so, Captain Blowhard and a hand-picked friend of the State collaborate on a puff piece designed to make sure he gets his “fair share” of credit for being such a visionary leader. this year, somehow, it’s come together. I doubt it has much to do with Kelly. The computer is biased against non-ESPN teams. I’m shocked we’re top 25!!1!

I still don’t think there’s much of a reason to believe ND can truly compete in the playoffs. I’ll be honest, the prospect of Swarbrick having to eat some crow almost makes me look forward to the inevitable playoff beat-down. I hate to sound like a defeatist, but we literally have no chance against Alabama.

Is the 2012 team held in high regard? That team didn’t win a single game. I honestly don’t look back on that team with a lot of fondness. As long as this program is piloted by Swarbrick and Kelly, I’m not sure if I’ll ever be able to truly love it again.

My thinking didn’t really change until 2012,but I quickly reverted back to hating the ever living f*ck out of this rotund babyman who miraculously found hisself actually in charge of the most sublime and singular embodiment of all that is good and right about sports in this country. And further: I still think Kelly sucks. I wouldn’t want to have a beer with him under any circumstances.

I’ve seen this movie before. Kelly starts out great, people rush to remind us how great he is or how great of a job he’s doing. The Victory March wasn’t written with Brian Kelly in mind. You just never know when the train will go off the tracks with Kelly as the coach. Derailment. John harbaugh may be available (that article is 16 months old).

I am a fair weather fan. It took me a long time to start enjoying the season (i still don’t like our offense and think we got pretty lucky last night). But speaking of fair weather, what the hell, i am going to Los Angeles for USC, provided we don’t step on our cranks in NYC where I am not going to the game unless the weather is up to my standards.

Terry, Khalid, and Te’Von need to get to Dungey and make him cry. I fear the University of Syracuse. I still hate the offense. It’s as if Book is Rees with the ability to escape South Bend police. Herky, jerky, too cute most of the time, especially in short yardage. I think you get a little wound up. Reminds me of an Asia song.

First game in a long time when I didn’t have to scream at the TV or think about throwing something. My wife noticed. I am an honorable man.
